On Friday, Aug. 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. with a rain date of Saturday, Aug. 15, an “art walk” exhibition showcasing and celebrating the finished products of the Downtown Artist Cellar’s Outside Art Affair will be set up throughout the Malone Rec Park. Featured artist Sandra Hildreth, who is renowned for her vibrant paintings of Adirondack landscapes, and 15 other local artist will have work on display.
Any and all members of the community are welcomed to join in the “art walk;” however, those in attendance are required to remain socially distant and adhere to the guidelines and ordinances as directed by the federal Centers for Disease Control and governing authorities. For those isolating, the Outside Art Affair will also be online at downtownartistcellar.com.
A three-item take-out menu of pita pizza, fresh greens salad with grilled chicken and a chicken caesar wrap will be available at The Malone Golf Club’s Grille Room, where art enthusiasts of the day can pick up a meal and bring it to the Rec Park. Those doing so are also encouraged to bring their own beverage. A portion of the Malone Golf Course’s proceeds from the day will go toward the further development of the children’s art programming in Malone. At the exhibition, viewers can expect to find art that is meant to highlight the beauty, history and qualities of Malone from a number of locations throughout the community, including the Malone Rec Park, Arsenal Green, downtown Malone, along the Salmon River, the Wilder Farm and the Malone Golf Course.
Downtown Artist Cellar is also encouraging that participants paint a landscape of their own choosing anywhere in Franklin County, including the VIC Center, and that artists reach out the Downtown Artist Cellar to arrange an appointment to paint in a local, private gardens.
