County of Franklin Solid Waste Management Authority will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 3:30 p.m. at the Franklin County Courthouse, 2nd floor conference room.
Annual Rotary spaghetti dinner
The annual spaghetti dinner sponsored by the Rotary Club of Malone will be held on Oct. 21 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the FEH BOCES building. This is a takeout/drive-thru event. Cost is $8 each.
On the menu is spaghetti, salad and rolls. You can also go to the Rotary of Malone Facebook page and order online.
TAKE OUT ONLY EVENT! Harvest Dinner
Frontier Chapter -203 is holding it’s annual Harvest Dinner on Thursday Oct. 21, at its hall at 263 County Route 34 Burke NY from 4 to 6 p.m. The cost is $12 adults, $6 ages 6 to 12, 5 and under free. The menu is roast turkey with all the trimmings with your choice of apple or pumpkin pie. You may pre-order by calling 518-232-1881.
The Board of Cooperative Educational Services of the Sole Supervisory District of Franklin, Essex and Hamilton Counties (BOCES) is scheduled for 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 21, to be held at the North Franklin Educational Center, 23 Husky Lane, Malone, New York and Webex per re-authorization of virtual meetings.
Grub and Growl
Malone American Legion Auxiliary - 219 is holding a grub-n-growl dinner Oct. 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Post 219, featuring chicken & biscuits, carrots, broccoli salad and dessert for $ 10/ person. It will be take- out only.
The Sons of Amvets will host a haddock dinner on Oct. 24 at the Post 8 clubhouse on Whippleville Road in Malone. Serving will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Cost is $12 for adults, $6 for children ages 5 to 12, and children under 5 eat free. The menu includes broiled or fried haddock, mashed potatoes, carrots, coleslaw, homemade rolls, desserts, coffee, and tea. The public is invited and take-outs will be available.
SLAW DOG DINNER
Oct. 29, sponsored by Sons of American Legion at Post 219 in Malone. Menu includes two slaw dogs, poutine, and Mike Kirby’s famous peanut-butter pie, all for just $9. Serving time is 5 to 7 p.m., eat-in or take-out, to support the SAL scholarship fund.
Fort Covington American Legion Auxiliary Unit -1418 is hosting a children’s Costume Halloween party on Saturday Oct. 30 from 1 to 3 p.m. There will be an adult costume party from 7 p.m. til ? Best Costume awards, dj, food and other fun activities.
United Methodist Church 41st Holiday Shopping
The United Methodist Church in Moira is hosting their 41st Holiday Shopping on Saturday Nov. 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Outside vendors along with the fire house. Covid precautions are in order. Call 518-529-6524 for more information.
Free Veterans breakfast
The Brushton Moira American Legion Auxiliary Unit -939 will serve a free breakfast for veterans on Nov. 13 from 8 a.m. to noon. Families are encouraged to attend.
