Beverly Ann Chartier, 83, of North Bangor, NY passed away May 15, 2021 at her home under the loving care of her son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Michelle and aided by Hospice of the North Country.
Born on August 13, 1937 in Claremont, NH., she was the daughter of Leo and Gertrude (Pulsifer) DeCoteau. They predeceased her.
She was married to Frederick George Chartier on June 6, 1959 in St. Jude’s Church, Brainardsville.
She graduated from Chateaugay Central School and attended Oneonta State. She worked as a secretary for Servants of Jesus and Mary in Trout River before retiring. She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Chateaugay. Beverly enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting and spending summers at camp on Chateaugay Lake. She was fond of a good motorcycle or snowmobile ride and loved to spend time with her family and friends.
Beverly is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Frederick of North Bangor; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jude and Mayra Chartier of Bath, PA and Joseph and Michelle Chartier of North Bangor; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Adam Smith of White River Junction, VT; 12 grandchildren, Samantha and Morgan Chartier, Hosnick Martinez, Mayreni Gayle, Cortne, Cody and Brandon Chartier, Sierra Perry, Savannah and Delaney Durant, Alexander and Aria Smith; ten great-grandchildren; five sisters and their spouses, Evelyn and William Titus, Annalee and Richard Secore and Lois Otis all of Brainardsville, Gertrude and James Healey of Tribeshill, NY, Virginia and Robert Bilow of Peru, NY; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Leo DeCoteau of Brainardsville, Ernest and Melody DeCoteau of Palm Bay, FL and John DeCoteau of Brainardsville; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. In accordance with current health restrictions, those in attendance are asked to observe the use of face coverings and social distancing.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at St. Patrick’s Church, Chateaugay.
Burial will take place at Brainardsville Cemetery.
