MASSENA – With heavy hearts, the family of Beverly E. Curran, 93, announce her passing on Friday, July 10, 2020, with her family at her side. Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.
Born December 1, 1926, in Brushton, she was the daughter of Lester and Mildred (Sochia) Farmer. She attended St. Regis Falls Schools. Beverly united into marriage with Gerald T. Curran on August 18, 1948, in Santa Clara. He predeceased her on July 7, 2008.
She was one of the first American Legion Post -939 Ladies Auxiliary members, and wrote many articles for the St. Regis Falls newspaper. Beverly enjoyed puzzles, making quilts, crocheting and reading; however she always cherished the moments with her family and friends.
Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of her children Bruce Curran of Lake Placid, Rodney Curran and his fiance, Bonnie Alaimo, of Massena, Dawn Corliss of Massena, and Kathy (James) Stafford of Alexandria, Ohio; and a daughter-in-law, Rosemary Curran of Brushton. Also surviving her are 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by two sons, Steven Curran and Timothy Curran, both of whom passed in 2012; grandson Jamie Pitts in 2017; two sisters, Catherine Meacham and Patricia Lohr also predeceased her.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 14, at 2 p.m. in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Brushton, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Gerald.
