Brett J. Perry, “Cub,” 53, of Chateaugay died Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at his home. He was under the care of the Hasting Hemodialysis Center.
Brett was born on May 22, 1968 in Malone, NY, the son of Shirley J. (Baker) Perry and Bernard Perry. He was married to Joann Warriner on July 16, 1999 by his uncle, Justice Joseph D. Perry. She was the love of his life.
Brett graduated from Chateaugay Central School. He was employed as a cook by the NYS Department of Corrections and was an outstanding cook. He was a proud member of the Chateaugay Fire and Rescue Department for over 20 years which he loved. He had a kind word and a smile for everyone he met.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and riding his motorcycle. He loved to be boating on Chateaugay Lake.
Brett is survived by his loving wife, Joann; two brothers and a sister, Bradley (Ann) Perry, Bernard (Laurie) Perry, Lisa (Douglas) Hahn; a brother-in-law, Jody Warriner; several nieces and nephews which he sometimes mentored and loved dearly.
He was predeceased by his parents; a nephew, Bradley Hahn; his mother-in-law, Bertha Morgan; two sisters-in-law, Rita Woodliff and Jomarie Decker and his beloved dog, Satchamoe.
Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Saturday, May 29 from 3 to 5 p.m. A memorial service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will take place at the Brainardsville Cemetery.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Chateaugay Fire and Rescue Department.
