Charles E. Marlow, 85, of the Houndsville Road, Malone died Friday, Sept. 11, 2020 at the Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone.
Born on March 20, 1935 in Malone, NY, he was the son of Harold and Ada Mae (Newton) Marlow.
He was married to Carol Barnes on Oct. 13, 1956 in Notre Dame Church.
Charlie graduated from Franklin Academy High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1953 where he was a helicopter mechanic and was honorably discharged in 1955. He was employed for Eastern Hardware and later Adirondack Hardware, retiring after many years of service. He was a member of Friendly Snowmobile Club and a past member of the Malone American Legion. Charlie enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Rose Marlow of North Bangor; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Shawn Doyle of Marion, NY; five grandchildren, Catherine and her husband, Andrew, Summer, Doug and his wife, Renee, Justin and Brandon; seven great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Savanah, Jayson, Michael, Alex, Peter and Zakaria; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary and Floyd Hogeboon of Malone, Terri Johnson of Vermont; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Laurie Marlow of Florida; a brother-in-law, John Bombard of Constable.
He was predeceased by his parents; a grandson, Jason Marlow; two brothers, George and Richard Marlow and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Beverly and Robert Maloney and Jackie Bombard.
A celebration of Charlie’s life will be held on Saturday, October 3 at the Friendly Snowmobile Club beginning at 3 p.m.
