Darrell B. Tatro, “Skip” 80, of the Taylor Road, Malone passed peacfully at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends on Friday, June 4, 2021.
Born on May 22, 1941 in Malone, NY, he was the son of John and Edith (Lavarnway) Tatro.
He was married to Angela Conners (King) on July 23, 1994.
Darrell graduated from Franklin Academy, Malone. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on Dec. 27, 1960 and was honorably discharged on Dec. 12, 1963. He was employed as a police officer for the Village of Malone from 1964 to 1966. He then became employed for Alcoa, retiring in 1997 after 31 years of service. Darrell was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and past member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife and loving partner, Angela of 35 years; two beloved sons and their wives, Craig and Fawn of Malone, Troy and Stephanie of Champlain; a stepson and his wife, Jason and Krysten Conners of Morrisonville; three granddaughters, Hannah and Hayley Tatro of South Carolina, Allison Tatro of Plattsburgh; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ken and Nancy King, John and Arlene King, Robert and Hilda King, James King, Mike and Donna King, Charles King, Kenny and Carol King, Mary Jo King, Veronica King and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Donald Lavarnway and a sister, Sandra Boardway.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Donations in his honor may be made to Precious Pups and/or the local Amvets and American Legion.
