MOIRA – Funeral services for Helen A. Dygert, 93 will be held Saturday (May 8th) at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church with the Rev. Raymond Moreau presiding. Interment will commence in the parish cemetery followed by a reception at the American Legion.

Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.

Helen passed away in the comforts of her home on December 24, 2020.

Born July 12, 1927 in Bombay, NY the daughter of Louis and Mae (Dumas) Durant. She was a 1943 graduate of the Bombay High School. Later attended business school 1945. She united into marriage with Lawrence Dygert in Brushton on May 9, 1948. He predeceased her in 2006. Helen was employed for five years with General Mills as a secretary and bookkeeper, later for Flint Insurance for 22 years. She was an avid communicant of St. Mary’s Church.

Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of her children Donald (Janet) Dygert of South Dennis, Cape Cod, Roger (Dianne) Dygert of Oneida, Robert Dygert of Florissant Colorado, Phillip (Jayme) Dygert of Florissant, Colorado, Linda Dygert of Wiscasset Maine, and Barbara (Ronald) Richards of Blossvale, NY. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a son, Gary in 2006 and Gary’s wife, Becky, in 2013. She was predeceased by her siblings, Arthur Durant, of Bombay, Theodore Durant, of North Lawrence, Elwood Durant of Verona, Dorothy Molnar of Youngstown, Ohio, Betty Lust of Sherrill, NY, Kenneth Durant of Bombay, Thomas Durant of Durmhamville, and Ethel Sauve of Norwood.
