James Michael Cook

James Michael Cook, 54, of Clermont, FL, passed away December 4, 2021, at his mother’s home in Clermont under the care of Hospice. His family was at his side.

He was born in Malone, NY, on September 29, 1967, the son of Dale F. Cook and Gail C. Cook.

He graduated from Franklin Academy, Malone, NY, in 1985. He attended North Country Community College and Houghton College. In high school and college, he was involved in the music department and played the French horn. He was a former member of the Cooks Corners Wesleyan Church, played the piano, and was on the Youth Bible Quiz team.

He moved to Florida in 1988 and was employed at Disney World. In 1994, James graduated from Rollins College, Winter Park, FL, with a bachelor’s degree in organizational communications. While in college he worked in the printing department at Campus Crusade for Christ in Orlando. Later he was employed by Werner Enterprises, Omaha LE, until he retired due to his health.

James is survived by David Groll-Cook Clermont, FL, his mother, Gail C. Cook, Brushton, NY, and Clermont, FL, brother, Jeffrey (Suzanne) Cook, Hickory, NC, two sisters, Dawn (Brent) Eggleston, North Bangor, NY, and Kelly (Glenn) King, Acworth, GA. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and David’s three daughters.

He was predeceased by his father, Dale F. Cook, in 2013 and brother, Kenneth, in 1980, as well as his grandparents.

Arrangements are with Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, Maitland, FL. Services and burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Drive, Winter Park, FL, on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 10 a.m.
