BRUSHTON – Leo E. Dishaw, 77, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 15, 2020, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center. Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.
Born June 5, 1943, in St. Regis Falls, he was the son of Henry & Grace (Clark) Dishaw. He was a United States Army veteran, honorably discharged April 7, 1971, and was stationed full time in Anchorage, Alaska. Leo was employed at ALCOA for 36 years.
Leo united into marriage with Barbara A. Hooker on February 24, 1968, at the First Christian Church in Brushton, NY. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sports. Leo was a long-time member of the Buckhorn hunting club and enjoyed watching his grandson (Connor P. Dishaw’s) play hockey games.
He is survived by a son, Peter (Jennifer) Dishaw of Bangor; and a daughter Anita (Brett) Furnia of Potsdam. Also surviving him are his grandchildren, Malorie Bell, Austin Dishaw and Connor Dishaw; and great grandchildren Jaxson Bell and Lauren Bell.
His siblings, Garey Dishaw of Moira, Diane (Bruce) Mackey of Brushton, Jacqueline (Bruce) Rockhill of Brushton, David Dishaw and his companion, Marilyn, of Bombay, Joanne Dishaw and her companion Sara of Moira, and Donna Martin of Brushton also survive him.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Steven P. Dishaw.
A graveside service will be held Friday 17, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery, Brushton.
