Philip L. Prue, 79, of Malone died Sunday, July 19, 2020 at The Alice Center, Malone.

Born on July 21, 1940 in Malone, NY, he was the son of Vilas and Mayfred (Thomas) Prue.

He was married to Dorothy M. Ryan on July 22, 1961 at St. Joseph’s Church, Malone. She predeceased him.

Phil was employed by Sysco Frosted Foods as a salesman, retiring after 21 years of service. He then became employed by Citizens Advocates as purchasing agent, retiring after 14 years of service. He was a member of the Malone Callfiremen for over 50 years and an associate member of the Malone American Legion. Phil enjoyed camping, traveling, hunting, fishing, NASCAR and wintering in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Florida.

He is survived by four sons, Craig Prue and his wife, JoyLynn of Malone, Brent Prue and his wife, Lisa of Malone, Scott Prue and his wife, Cathy of Malone, Hal Prue and his companion, Andrea O’Keefe of Owls Head; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Rodger Prue and his wife, Debbie of Malone; sister-in-law, Patricia Prue of Moira; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Stanley and Shirley Bilow of Malone; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Donald Prue; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Emma Ryan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donald and Jean Ryan.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
