Richard F. King, Sr., 84, of Constable died Sunday, June 6, 2021 at the Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone.
Born on May 20, 1937 in Malone, NY, he was the son of Wallace and Lydia (Perry) King.
He was married to Rose Patterson on Dec. 26, 1959 in St. George’s Church, Burke. She predeceased him on Jan. 6, 2021.
In his early years, Dick worked on the family farm. He then became employed as truck driver for Elliot and Hutchins, retiring from Bombardier after 37 years of service. He then drove bus for Salmon River Central School for 16 years. He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a former member of the Thunderbird Radio Club.
He is survived by a daughter, Rosann Montroy of Malone; three sons, Richard King Jr. of Constable, Dennis King of Malone, Darrin King and his wife, Laura of Derry, NH; grandchildren, Ginny King and her companion Kenny Buntz, Keisha King, Derek King and his wife Jessica Ghostlaw-King, Christopher King, Jordon King and his companion Tara Deshane, Melissa Smith, Brandon Mahler and his wife, Alexandra Mahler, Brandy Mahler, Amanda Cunningham, Josh Smith, Carter King, Nick King, Alyssa King, Matthew Montroy; great-grandchildren, Chloe King, Chace Avery, Brody Hyde, Jaxon King, Kayne King, Sylis King, Dominique King, Aiden Monique, Everly Rose King, Leeya King with two more on the way; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Lila King of Burke, Gerald and Peggy King of Ohio, Carlton and Phyllis King of Vermontville; a sister, Patricia Poirer of Burke; three sisters-in-law, Linda Collett of Malone, Pearl LaRocque of Malone, Marion Trudell of Malone; two brothers-in-law, Dale Patterson of Malone, John Patterson of Norfolk; his extended son, Todd Sheen and his wife, Tina of Burke; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his parents, several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at St. Mary-Murphy-Wilcox Funeral Home on Friday, June 11 from noon to 1:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Notre Dame Church, Malone.
Burial will take place at North Burke Cemetery.
