Richard R.O. Yeddo, 85, Army Veteran, Beloved Father and Grandfather
Westminster-Richard R. O. Yeddo, 85, died peacefully Saturday morning, May 15, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Richard was born in Malone, NY on December 1, 1935 a son of the late Henry and Ruth (Bogart) Yeddo and has lived in Westminster for many years. His beloved Sandra (Marrone) Yeddo died in 1994.
Richard will be greatly missed by his two daughters, Lee-Ann Yeddo of Edgartown, MA and Kimberly Carrignan and her husband Todd of Millbury, MA; three grandchildren, Sean, Sandra and Skylar Carrignan; six siblings, Rose Brooks, Donald Yeddo and his wife Jean, June Yeddo, Phyllis Yeddo, Patricia Yeddo and Robert Yeddo and his wife Pamela; one brother in-law Ross Belthazard; one sister-in-law, Carol Cooney; and many nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by four siblings, Glenn Foster and his wife Shirley, Beatrice Foster Brooks and her husband Douglas, Dolores Belthazard and Carol Yeddo; and one brother in-law James Brooks.
Richard worked for LaChance furniture for many years as a salesman and eventually manager of sales. He was a life-long die-hard New York Yankees Fan who enjoyed bowling and playing cards with his friends on poker night. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Westminster and the Gardner Elks Lodge.
Relatives and friends are planning to honor and celebrate Richard’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Westminster Chapel of The Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 123 Main St. Westminster, On Thursday May 20, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday May 21 at 11 a.m.. Burial will follow in Woodside Cemetery Westminster.
In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial contributions be made to the Owen E. Carrignan Sports Scholarship C/O Millbury Federal Credit Union, 50 Mill St., Millbury, MA 01527.
