Ricky Joseph Malley, 59, of the Brown Benoit Road, Owls Head, died Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, following a brief illness.
He was born in Malone, December 19, 1961, the son of Richard James “Dick” Malley and the former Nancy Jane Cook. Ricky grew up in Malone and was a 1980 graduate of Franklin Academy in Malone. He enlisted with the United States Navy and served with the “Seabees” from 1981 until his discharge in1983.
He married Jennifer Conners-Malley, September 17, 2016. Sadly, she passed soon after on October 17th, 2016.
Ricky was employed at Titus Mountain for numerous years as a snowmaker and ski school instructor. He also held other positions with many other local businesses, throughout the years.
Ricky had a genuine love of downhill skiing, and also for the company of his family and friends. In addition he enjoyed visiting his favorite local tavern, the Wagon Wheel in Malone. He will be fondly remembered as a quiet, unassuming, and kind man and will be missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish the memory of Ricky are, his loving mother and step-father, Nancy Malley-King and Ken King of Owls Head; two brothers, Jody Malley, and Robert “Bob” and his wife Amanda Malley, all of Mt. View; daughter, Jessica; two nieces; one nephew; great-niece and great-nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his father, Richard “Dick” Malley, September 4, 1994.
At Ricky’s request, there will be no public calling hours or services. Burial will be held at a later date in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Malone.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Owls Head-Mountain View Volunteer Fire Dept.
