BRUSHTON – Robert James Berger, 78, passed away unexpectedly at his home January 6, 2021. Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.
Born in Queens, NY on April 5, 1942 the son of William & Genevieve (Dunne) Berger. Bob was honorably discharged from the New York State National Guard in 1970. He graduated from NYU with honors later receiving his master’s degree from Pace University. Prior to moving to Franklin County in 1985, he was a manager for Xerox and OCE. Bob taught business management at North Country Community College, Clinton College, SUNY Plattsburg, where he also worked in Administration, he later continued teaching at SUNY Canton and SUNY Potsdam, from where he retired.
Bob had a beautiful collection of antique cars, and an extensive collection of WWI and WWII memorabilia. He was an avid NY Mets fan, and New York Giants fan. At one time Bob had his own band and played rhythm guitar in NYC as well as the PVI in Brushton.
Bob was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church, St. Regis Falls.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Marguerite Nelson of Brushton.
Funeral services will be held Friday (Jan 15th) at 11 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church, St. Regis Falls. A spring burial will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Brushton May 7th, at 9:00 a.m.
