Rose King, 78, of Constable died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021 at the Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone.
Born on May 18, 1942 in Fort Covington, NY, she was the daughter of George and Simonne (Gibow) Patterson.
She was married to Richard King on Dec. 26, 1959 in St. George’s Church, Burke
Rose spent her life raising children. She has taken many kids under her wing and raised them as her own. Rose was a mother to many. She owned and operated King’s Nursing Home in Westville for 15 years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Westville and a former member of the Malone Moose Lodge and Malone American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, caring for others, spending time with kids, grandchildren and her husband.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years Richard King ; daughter, Rosann Montroy of Malone; three sons, Richard King Jr. of Constable, Dennis King of Malone, Darrin King and his wife, Laura of Derry, NH;
Grandchildren; Ginny King companion Kenny Buntz, Keisha King, Derek King wife Jessica Ghostlaw-King, Christopher King, Jordon King companion Tara Deshane, Melissa Smith, Brandon Mahler wife, Alexandra Mahler, Brandy Mahler, Amanda Cunningham, Josh Smith, Carter King, Nick King, Alyssa King; Great-grandchildren, Chloe King, Chace Avery, Brody Haye, Jaxon King, Kayne King, Sylis King, Dominique King, Aiden Monique,Everly Rose King, Leeya King, with one more on the way; three sisters, Linda Collett and her husband, Jerry of Malone, Pearl LaRocque of Malone; two brothers, Dale Patterson of Malone, John Patterson of Norfolk; her extended son, Todd Sheen and his wife, Tina of Burke; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Lila King of Burke, Gerald and Peggy King of Ohio, Carlton and Phyllis King of Vermontville, Patricia Poirer of Burke; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; two sisters, Genevieve Tavernia and Charlotte in infancy; three brothers, Bill, Donald and Warren Patterson.
Calling hours will be held at St. Mary-Murphy-Wilcox Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. In accordance with current health restrictions, those in attendance are asked to observe the use of face coverings and social distancing.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9 at Notre Dame Church, Malone.
Spring burial will take place at North Burke Cemetery.
