Terry Hughes, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2020.
She was born on September 10, 1956, to George and Janet Matthews. She graduated from Franklin Academy High School in 1974 and went on to study education for two years at Plattsburgh State University.
Her husband, John Hughes survives her, as well as their son, Todd Hughes; daughter, Amanda Hughes; granddaughter, Alexis Hosler; and parents, George Matthews and Janet Turner.
Terry worked as a medical receptionist for much of her career. Recently, Terry retired after working for Dr. Tran at the ADK Foot Clinic in Malone. Terry cherished her time with friends and family the most, especially her granddaughter, Alexis. She loved spending time on vacation with her husband and looked forward to it each year. She also enjoyed spending time in her flower garden and guessing when her tulips may bloom this year. Terry also enjoyed being a part of the Ladies of Auxiliary with the American Legion Post 219. She will be forever with us.
In accordance with the current health restrictions, attendance-controlled calling hours will be held at the St. Mary-Murphy-Wilcox Funeral Home on Monday, July 13, from 2 to 5 p.m. A prayer service will immediately follow at 5 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Those in attendance are asked to observe social distancing and use of facial coverings.
Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lake Titus Road.
