The family of Violet E. Shatlaw, 76, announce her passing on Saturday July 25, 2020. Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.
Born December 21, 1943 in Newburgh, NY, the daughter of the late Myron and Olive (McCoy) Borst. Violet was educated locally and later obtained her GED. She united into marriage with Richard Shatlaw. Violet enjoyed computer and shopping online, she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and had a special bond with her dog “Sara”.
Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of her children Walter Sweed Jr., Howard (Tracy) Sweed of Midland PA, Carol (John) Marsco of Newburgh, NY, Francis (Darlene) Anderson of Constable, Wallace (Tina) Anderson of Moira, Rhonda and her companion Richard Young of Middletown NY, and Catherine (Danny) Martin Brushton and her grandchildren. Two sisters Debbie (Ernest) Cea of Walden, NY., and Cindy Cutler-Hanson of Tennessee survive her.
A Celebration of life service will be held Friday (July 31st) at 685 Wagner Road, Brushton. Family and friends are welcomed to come starting at 1 p.m. throughout the early evening. Due to the current health care regulations social distancing, and facial mask are encouraged.
Memorial contributions may be made in Viola’s honor to the Brushton Volunteer Fire Department.
