To the editor:
I would like to send a letter voicing our support of Village Trustee Andrea Dumas in her campaign to become the mayor of Malone.
Trustee Dumas epitomizes what it means to be a “person of the people.” In my experience, left or right, it does not matter … Village Trustee Andrea Dumas is and will continue to be a voice for what is best for Malone and the people of Franklin County.
Trustee Dumas is visibly noticed all over Franklin County; however, there is much that goes unnoticed. Bringing supplies to the church pantry or delivering food to those in need. When a local family loses a home to a fire, it is Village Trustee Andrea Dumas that is on site and making calls to make sure that adequate housing is available for the family in distress. These acts may go unnoticed, but they cannot go unmentioned.
Village Trustee Dumas is the one who travels to Washington, D.C., to be a voice for Malone and the people of the North Country. It is her face that they see and her voice that they hear. This is the voice Malone needs to continue to advocate for grants and funding so that the revitalization of downtown Malone may continue.
Her youth, energy and exuberance are exactly what we need more of in our town.
