The Telegram welcomes letters to the editor.
Letters to the editor relating to the Nov. 3 general election must be received by The Telegram no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28. Letters arriving after that deadline will not be published.
All letters must include the author’s name and hometown, which will be published, and a telephone number, which will not be. Anonymous letters will not be published.
Letters should be no longer than 400 words.
Letters from any one individual will be published no more frequently than one every two weeks.
Letters can criticize positions and public statements on issues. Personal attacks are not permitted.
Letters will be fact-checked for accuracy. Letters that misrepresent provable facts will not be published or - if citing a dubious source - will be noted as such.
