To the editor:
I am writing this letter in support of Ed Lockwood and his current campaign for Franklin County Legislature District 4 seat.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Ed Lockwood for quite some time and have had the opportunity to work beside him on community projects over the last several years. Ed’s dedication to the community and the area youth has never been stronger than it is today.
In his many years as a member and vice president of the Malone Minor Hockey Association, he committed his time to helping secure funds to enhance the Malone Civic Center and to help our local kids try the game of hockey for free. In his years of volunteer work with Malone Minor Hockey Association, he helped secure over $500,000 in donations, grants and funding, which has assisted with the many improvements that he helped oversee as a board member and vice president.
In the most recent years, Ed has committed his time to the town and village of Malone and is always present at many of our community events. When asked for help with a community challenge, he is one of the first ones to respond with “how can I help?” Just recently I had the opportunity to work with him on securing support and funding for the Rec Park in Malone. This funding of over $350,000 will be for the renovation of our Rec Park building and the enhancement of the park. Projects like these take time, commitment, communication and follow up. Ed was there every step of the way as he has always been.
There are many intangibles that Ed Lockwood possesses, and his “community first” mindset is a great fit for Franklin County Legislature District 4 seat. I hope when you attend this upcoming election that you vote for Ed Lockwood for the Franklin County Legislature District 4 seat as he will work tirelessly for our communities and the North Country.
