To the editor:
I am writing this letter of support for my friend and colleague, Dan Stec, for Senate.
Dan has campaigned relentlessly in the North Country, as tirelessly as he has worked his entire political career where he started on the local level in Queensbury as a zoning board member, town councilman, and the Queensbury town supervisor, which just name a few of his political positions. With a work ethic that traces back to his working his way through Clarkson University and graduating with a degree in chemical engineering, he then entered the Navy’s nuclear power program, earned his MBA while serving his country in Operation Desert Storm. This brief background is just part of the success that Dan has had through the work he has done as an Assemblyman.
As a native of Queensbury, his commitment transcends to the people all over the state of New York and especially the North Country. He successfully balances his responsibilities of assemblyman, husband and father; not an easy task in today’s political forum.
I have spent many hours with Dan at various community and campaign events. He is a candidate who gets out and meets his voting audience, his neighbors of the North Country. He asks questions in the quest to know more and to understand people. He listens to the concerns of those same people and he advocates for those who cannot. He fights to keep taxes down for both the people and businesses. He works to continue to improve our infrastructures, like roads, bridges and broadband. And, he fights for our schools, to get the financial aid and resources they need, just to name a few of his platform commitments.
Dan shows up and he gets the work done. I’m proud to call him both friend and colleague and I’m excited to see his talents and commitment continue to shine and his work improve our state and our lives as our New York state senator.
