Dale and Eunice Fairchild celebrate 70s anniversary

Dale and Eunice Fairchild cut their wedding cake on Aug. 17, 1949. The couple has been married for 70 years.

Dale and Eunice Clark Fairchild celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Aug. 25 at the home of Scott and Lori Fairchild in Malone. Over 60 family members and friends traveled from Kentucky, New Jersey, Florida, Vermont and northern New York to join in their celebration.

Dale and Eunice wed on Aug. 17, 1949, at the groom’s family farmhouse with attendants Erma Brockway (Fairchild), friend of the bride, as maid of honor, and Carlton Fairchild, brother of the groom as best man.

Dale and Eunice lived their lives in North Bangor, New York, where they raised their four children. Son Larry and his wife, Nancy, live in Sarasota, Florida; son Kenny and his wife, Jean, live in St. Albans, Vt.; daughter Linda lives in St. Albans, Vt.; and daughter Carol and husband, Joe Lamica, live in Kanab, Utah.

Eunice worked for Franklin County and retired with 30 years of service. Dale was employed by Alcoa, Reynolds Metal Company, St. Lawrence-Lewis County BOCES and New York State United Teachers. Five years ago, Dale and Eunice re-located to St. Albans, Vermont.
