ALBANY –– Price Chopper/Market 32 and News Channel 13 are once again joining forces with the American Red Cross in September to raise funds that will support families impacted by disasters. From Sept. 1 through Sept. 30, Price Chopper/Market 32 customers can donate $1 or $5 at checkout each time they shop to support Red Cross Disaster Relief. Price Chopper/Market 32 will match all donations made during the month, up to $5,000.

From hurricanes to fires to floods, the Red Cross responds to nearly 64,000 disasters each year. Price Chopper/Market 32 and News Channel 13 in Albany are committed to helping people affected by disasters big and small, in our community and across the country.

“Given that the Red Cross responds to a disaster every eight minutes, we know how important it is for them to have emergency response funds at the ready. We are proud that the collective generosity of Price Chopper/Market 32’s customers and teammates, in addition to our corporate match, supports neighbors near and far whose lives have been altered by disaster,” said Mona Golub, Price Chopper/Market 32’s vice president of public relations and consumer services.

“Red Cross volunteers provide relief to families impacted by home fires and other emergencies in our community 365 days a year. That relief is available immediately thanks to generous local donors who ensure that we are ready to respond every time disaster strikes,” said Kimmy Venter, chief communications officer for the American Red Cross Eastern New York Region. “The support we receive during the month of September – from Price Chopper/Market 32, their customers, and the team at News Channel 13 – allows us to provide relief to victims of disasters big and small, all year long. We’re very grateful for this longstanding partnership.”

NewsChannel 13 has partnered with Price Chopper/Market 32 and the Red Cross to provide media support for this campaign in the Capital Region. “We have been working for decades alongside the Red Cross and Price Chopper/Market 32 to get the word out about the need for disaster relief,” said News Channel 13 vice president and general manager, Steve Baboulis. “We are proud to once again join the September drive to assist disaster victims in dire need of help.”
