CHATEAUGAY – Chateaugay softball routed Tupper Lake, 28-1 in five innings at home to increase the Bulldogs’ win streak by five games.

Avery McDonald struck out nine Lumberjacks batters – three of which came in the first inning.

“Nice team win tonight. We were able to get contributions from all 20 players,” Chateaugay coach Jason LaPlante said. “We are just continuing to work hard and play together as the sectionals approach.”

The Bulldogs host Brushton-Moira in an NAC East rematch for their regular season finale on Friday.

SOFTBALL

MASSENA 8, FRANKLIN ACADEMY 1

Mackenzie Lane pitched two innings for the Huskies, striking out two Red Raiders at the plate, walking two and allowing five hits. Ryleigh McCauley pitched five innings with five strikeouts.

BASEBALL

CANTON 9, SALMON RIVER 4

Trailing 4-2 after three innings, Canton rallied with five runs in the fourth inning to make a comeback over the Shamrocks.

MASSENA 12, FRANKLIN ACADEMY 1

Logan Spaulding scored the lone run for the Huskies, while Jordan Perry had the RBI. Patrick Poupore pitched three innings and finished with two strikeouts and four hits allowed. Harrison Hungerford pitched one inning with six hits.
