MALONE – Franklin Academy softball remains unbeaten, picking up its fifth straight win, 8-3 over Ogdensburg Free Academy on Wednesday.
Ryleigh McCauley struck out 16 batters with five walks and two hits. Mackenzie Lane hit two doubles in her three at bats.
The Huskies take on Canton for first place in the NAC Central on Thursday.

Chateaugay softball (3-2) rebounded with a win on the road against Tupper Lake (0-4). The Bulldogs won by one run, and climbed above .500 in the NAC East standings once again.

Salmon River softball (0-4) fell to Gouverneur (2-3, 2-2) on the road.

Franklin Academy golf lost its first match of the season at the Malone Golf Club on Wednesday.
Dawson Miletich (42), Sam Eells (50), Jerry Scharf (47), Evan Miller (51) and Jack Monette (46) posted the accounted scores for the Huskies (4-1).
“We knew that they were going to be tough and the match played out just about the way that stroke averages suggested it would,” Franklin Academy coach Chris Kelley said. “Dawson had a good round tonight and Jack made a good comeback from last Friday’s round. In the number 7 spot, Owen Eells had a good round.”
SALMON RIVER 23, PLATTSBURGH 4
Salmon River girls lacrosse routed Plattsburgh on the road. The Shamrocks have now won five straight and remain atop of the NAC Central.
