The Franklin Academy boys and girls bowling teams both recorded 4-0 sweeps against Chateaugay in a match held at Lucky Strike Lanes in Malone on Tuesday.
The win moved the FA boys into sole possession of first place in the standings with a 5-1 record (7-1 overall), while the loss is the second of the year for the CCS boys (5-2, 4-2), with both coming at the hands of the Huskies.
The FA girls increased their league lead to three games over the Bulldogs with their win, as the lady Huskies move to 6-0 in the league (7-1 overall). Chateaugay falls to 3-3 (4-3 overall).
Zach King continued to roll a hot ball and paced the FA boys with a 675 series. He opened with a 232, added a 240 in the second game and closed out the match with a 203. This came on the heels of King rolling a perfect 300 game in FA’s last outing on Friday.
Xander Lamica added a 604 triple to the FA victory on games of 200, 224 and 180, while Cooper Marlow finished with a 553 series, with a high single of 201.
Alex Otis paced the CCS contingent with a 561 series on games of 170, 212 and 179. Brayden Feimann finished with a 554 triple and games of 195, 170 and 189.
Ashley Brooks led the FA girls with a 517 triple, with a high single of 205, while Carley McElwain tossed a 479 series. Belle Bonville contributed a 472 triple to the FA win, with a high single of 200 in her opening game.
Madison Carr led the Chateaugay girls with a 516 series, with games of 184, 157 and 175, while Kimberly Dunn finished off the match with a 455 triple, including a high single of 177.
Franklin Academy is right back in action today, traveling to North Bowl Lanes in Plattsburgh for a nonconference match against Saranac Central. The Huskies travel to Moria for a league match against Brushton-Moira at Big D’s House on Thursday, while Chateaugay goes to Plattsburgh for a nonleague contest at Plattsburgh High on Friday.
