Gov. Andrew Cuomo has relaxed some of the COVID-19 restrictions to now allow some of the local sports leagues to hold least part of a baseball and/or softball season.
With that announcement by the governor, the Malone Youth Baseball League notified The Telegram Sports Department via email that it will be holding signups on two dates next week.
The sign-ups will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday at the Malone Rec Park’s Andrews Pavilion, which is located next to the park’s main entrance on Duane Street.
This sign-up is for any child – ages 4 to 12 – from any community for a projected 12-game season that is slated to run from July 6 to Aug. 14. Players must sign up on one of these two nights, as league directors need to have rosters, schedules and shirts ready for the July 6 beginning. Cost is $40 per child.
