OGDENSBURG — Salmon River boys soccer on Thursday improved to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in league play, following a 1-0 win on the road, over Ogdensburg Free Academy. Rick Chatland scored the Shamrocks lone goal, from 25 yards out, at the 70th minute, on a feed from Evan Collette. Ethan Moulton finished the game with seven saves in goal for Salmon River.
Franklin Academy boys soccer dropped to 0-4 on the season, after falling to Canton, 3-1 on the road. After holding the Golden Bears scoreless in the first half, the Huskies surrendered the three goals that would materialize into Canton’s final tally for the evening. Franklin Academy freshman Caleb Hall notched the lone score for the Huskies, unassisted, at the 53rd minute. Senior goalkeeper Aidan Langdon finished with 12 saves in goal for Franklin Academy.
After leading 1-0 coming out of halftime, Colton-Pierrepont boys soccer netted four more goals in the second half to defeat Brushton-Moira, 5-0. Panther goalkeeper Jacob Gagnon finished with nine saves on the evening.
St. Regis Falls girls soccer dropped to 1-5 on the season, losing to St. Lawrence on the road, 3-0. The Saints were within striking distance, trailing the Larries 1-0 coming out of halftime, but St. Lawrence scored two more goals in the second half to put the game out of reach and bringing it to its final tally.
