NNY not in ‘microcluster’ danger

Ten new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the county since Monday, with the positivity rate standing at 8.13%, officials said. Two people in the area have died from the virus, one occurring at Alice Hyde Medical Center earlier this month.

There are 56 known active cases in the county, Franklin County Manager Donna Kissane said in a press release. There have been 10 cases recently resolved and the 7-day positivity rate average as of Tuesday is 3.71%.

According to the county manager’s office, there have been 248 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the area since the start of the pandemic.

Total cumulative positive cases since March – which include suspected cases – stands 306. There are currently 544 Franklin County residents in either isolation or quarantine.
