County reaches 150 active virus cases

MALONE — Franklin County on Saturday reached 150 known active cases of COVID-19, following 25 newly reported infections, officials said.

The county’s positivity rate, as of Friday is 6.20%, while its 7-day average is 4.74%. There are 543 residents listed as either isolating or in quarantine. Twelve residents have recently recovered from the virus.

Cumulatively, there have been 1,050 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic. There have been eight deaths recorded in the county due to COVID-19 complications.

There are 14 active positive cases at Bare Hill Correctional Facility, one case at Franklin Correctional Facility and one case at Upstate Correctional Facility, county officials said Saturday.

The state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision database as of Thursday showed Bare Hill Correctional having 123 total positive cases and 94 recoveries. Franklin Correctional as of Thursday had three total COVID-19 cases and two total recoveries while Upstate Correctional reported 23 total cases and 23 recoveries.
