MALONE –– The number of active cases of the COVID-19 virus in Franklin County rose by one on Tuesday, bringing the total to four.
County Manager Donna Kissane, in her morning briefing email, had originally reported that the number of cases had remained flat at three, but said later in the day that the county had received a fourth positive test result after the email was distributed.
Prior to the receipt of that result, the county’s number had remained at three since Friday –– the end of a week in which the numbers had fluctuated between two and six.
The number of people listed in quarantine or isolation in the email remained unchanged at 79, a mark it reached on Saturday after it had stayed at 59 for much of the week.
A total of 11,624 tests have been administered in the county, according to the email. Of that number, 11,594 had come back negative as of Tuesday morning and 27 of the 30 people who had tested positive have recovered.
