MALONE — Forty-four new positive cases since Thursday has brought Franklin County to 137 known active cases of COVID-19, officials said.
In contrast to the newly discovered infections, there have been 16 county residents reported by the County Manager’s Office to have recently recovered from the virus.
The daily positivity rate, as of Thursday, is 4.85%. The most recent 7-day average is 4.46%.
Since the start of the pandemic, eight county residents have died. There have been 1,025 cumulative cases of COVID-19 since the spring.
Currently, there are 439 people listed as in either isolation or quarantine.
The county on Friday reported 14 active positive cases at Bare Hill Correctional Facility, one positive case at Franklin Correctional and none at Upstate Correctional.
As of Wednesday, Bare Hill Correctional reported 118 total positive cases and 91 recoveries, according to the state DOCCS online database. There were three positive cases and two recoveries at Franklin Correctional. Upstate Correctional on Wednesday posted 23 positive cases and 23 recoveries.
Two new positive cases of COVID-19 on Friday were reported out of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe by its Emergency Operations Center. This brings the total number of known positive cases in the Tribe’s jurisdiction to 14 infections. One resident of Akwesasne on Thursday recovered from the virus.
